Considering the walking tank genre is still mainstream in games such as Mech Warrior Online and Hawken. I never played tribes as the slower paced herculean combat of star siege was much more fun and in my mind required a lot more skill as do most walking tank games. It is not large enough to offer the multiplayer excitement of the game in it's glory days. The reason I don't play is a because of the very small community. I don't blame them as it is still one of my favorites even though I haven't played it in a long long time. There are still some die hard players that have refused to let this game die. I was a player of the Star Siege game and played it for a long time, under a few names, mostly as Equuleus. Interesting that OpenGL seems to use such a different set of textures for terrain. Reduced terrain geometry LOD - not sure if this is caused directly by using Glide, or if the game just uses reduced distant detail because it "thinks" it's running at 1024x768. UI scaling issues (if a resolution over 1024x768 is used) - pixelated appearance, lines around various elements. Glide (1024x768 resolution selected in-game, 1440x1080 selected in nGlide Configurator - resized down for easy comparison with earlier shots) I tried running the game in Glide mode (using nGlide) and got an improved result: I also tried a variety of different compatibility modes using the Microsoft Application Compatibility Toolkit, but didn't find any that affected the graphical appearance of the game. first thing, but it doesn't seem to have any effect. Not sure about forcing different VRAM detection. Is there a key to force that? I would start by disabling every antialiasing/filtering in OpenGL. I can only assume VRAM amount is detected incorrectly.
