Streaming services tend to not have lock-in contracts, so if you’re looking to switch to another service, the first step would be cancelling your existing subscription. You are only hurting your own users, customers, and supporters and therefore your business.But it is really easy. My advice to Spotify: provide a phone number for these kinds of issues and address them very quickly and seriously. People shouldn't have to angerly post on Spotify's own community forum to have a serious issue like this addressed in a timely manner. Regardless of the reason this has happened, Spotify needs to learn to provide better customer service to handle issues like this. I urge anyone else with this issue to do the same and to publicize this issue online. I have reported the charge as fraudulent with my credit card company and blocked all future charges from Spotify. I would never have expected something like this from a company like Spotify. As already mentioned by another user, there is no contact number for Spotify to resolve this (I now wonder if the whole reason is so that they can unlawfully charge your credit card and make it a nightmare to investigate it) and they have not been responsive via the online form. ![]() I have checked my junk and spam and trash folders. It has now been OVER 48 HOURS AND I HAVE STILL NOT GOTTEN ANY RESPONSE. I have filled out the anonymous contact form that I read about on this community when I discovered this issue and immediately responded to the no-reply email that confirmed receipt of my complaint. I have NEVER signed up for any sort of paid subscription for Spotify. I have a Spotify Free account that I have never linked any credit card information to, nor did I even have the credit card that was just charged at the time of my Spotify sign up. $9.99 charge on a credit card that I have NEVER given to Spotify. ![]()
